“offers guided tours”
In 1883 while a lime- stone quarry operation was digging where the parking lot now stands, the entrance to the cave was accidentally created. In 1930, hand- rails, lighting and walkways were added, and the cave was opened to the public. The natural limestone cavern is kept in its completely pristine state, and does not house bats or other animals. The five picturesque cavern chambers have an abundance of stalactites, stalagmites, and other crystal formations along with fluorescent minerals. Moving through the cavern is the Lost River, whose clear waters mysteriously originate from an unknown source, then disappear once more beneath the earth's surface.
Good tour, but pictures were very misleading. THERE IS NO BOAT, but don't go out of the way for it.
I loved the small museum except I was disappointed when the pictures shown were not at all what we saw. This does not include a boat at all and the cave and tour was very small. It was worth the stop but not worth driving out of the way for.
Cool caves to stop for hour on road. Great short tour, very eccentric gift shop & "museum". 50 degrees in caves, bring jackets.
Loved it the tour guide was really great!
The cave was amazing and beautiful. There was an underground river that we passed through. The tour guide was funny, nice, and very enthusiastic. There was a gift shop and they sell rocks, crystals, and fossils which I'm completely against with. I hope it's not from the cave or mined or anything that might destroy the natural vegetation of the cave.
The tour was amazing!! The small group made it a relaxing time and easy to hear what your guide was saying. We came when some of the tunnels was under water which was sad but makes me wonder how much of this cave is undiscovered!!
Photo with the boat is the Entrance to the Puerto Princesa Underground River in the Philippines. It's deliberately misleading and should be removed.
Very nice stop and scenery.
Great tour and very informative!
nice and quick tour
