We made a reservation online(mistake). If I could give less than 1 star I would. We drove 10 to get there, and I called to say we would be there about 6:30. They said fine grab your map by the office. The problem started when we arrived. First the place is very poorly lit, I could see better with a match. When we found what we thought was our spot, along comes the golf cart ass hat. We asked him clarify the numbers, and he comes back with why are you asking that. My wife said we have a reservation and we want to make sure we had the right spot. Then golf cart ass hat says I don't like your attitude you can leave. At which point we both got attitude, and wanted our refund. Of course he refused. At that point my called the police, to which we found out they've had many problems with him before. So pretty much this place sucks. Don't waste your time. On a positive note, the police were nice and helpful. So now we are at hotel with out camper. Awesome
We checked in after hours and left before the office opened. I don't think Chris was rude. I spoke with him on the phone. I think he is direct and to the point. If you follow his direction and don't need fluffed, he is fine. This park was fine for a quick stop. Not a park I would hang at for a few days. It served its purpose for us.
The guy was kind of rude when we showed up. We checked in after office hours and knocked (We called a few hours before to confirm that this was fine) and the man asked what time zone we were from "because our sign says we're closed". We tent camped, was pretty deserted late July 2014.
Chris was very rude when we cancelled our reservation because our plans have changed. Asked me if there was some kind of emergency. NO!! Plans change!!!!
We just spent 2 nights here. The camp host-Chris, was an excellent host. It is obvious he cares a lot about his customers and their stay. He strikes us as the type of person who believes respect and congeniality are are 2 way street. If your treat him with respect, you will definately be treated with the same respect if not more. The campgrounds are in excellent shape and you can see he makes several rounds each day to ensure the campgrounds are safe, clean and simply put, you can rest well knowing he has his eye on things. We will definately stay here again in our future travels. I might also add the baby back ribs and Cherry cheesecake available through the resturaunt or... get this, (delivered to your campsite) are spectacular. Thank you Chris for a great experience.
Also, it clearly states in the brochure that the WiFi isn’t great..so don’t expect it to be better🤷🏻♀️
I read the comments before we stopped, but we did anyways because we were tired of driving and the kids were too. He’s just a hard ass, get over it! If you go in the office with a good attitude, chances are you’ll find one in him as well (: The RV Park is very nice and the BBQ is REALLY good, and we’re from Texas..so that says a lot! Give it a chance if your driving through, and the Blue Hole isn’t too far from here and the kids loved seeing that too!!
We called to see if a spot was available for a 26 foot class c We were told to fill out a form at the door and we could settle up in the morning. the owner must have ptst , very rude.
We should have read reviews before we pulled in. price was more than advertised. wifi was on but no bandwidth. no restaurant. only 1/2 the sights have sewer.
if you have another's option take it
Great place to overnight when passing through!
We stayed at Santa Rosa RV Park in late June 2017 when passing through the region. I have a vacation home in Santa Fe, so am pretty familiar with the topography of NM and this campground is quite typical of the region. It's the desert, so finding campgrounds with a bunch of grass and trees is wishful thinking. NM stresses water conversation, so most all residents and businesses landscape accordingly. I was pleasantly surprised Santa Rosa RV Park has quite a few trees on the property, as shade can be scarce in NM.
We reserved a spot earlier in the day while on the road and the owner was nothing but professional and friendly. The campground was easy to find off I-40 west. We arrived after hours and had several pull throughs to choose from. It was quite dark and the site numbers were hard to read. We found a spot that was fairly level with full hookups. Access to our pull-thru, FHU site was not a problem for our motorhome with tow vehicle (25' motorhome with toad - 42' overall). We did not have to unhook our toad.
The drive down into the park from the front is relatively steep, but not crazy. The interior streets were easy to navigate and there seemed to be several pull thru sites, so I'd say this campground is big rig friendly. All sites are hard pack dirt. It was nice to see there were some grassy areas that were well watered and taken care of...which our dogs appreciated. The park was fairly full, but not completely booked. There is a pool, tent sites and a restaurant. The next morning we were bummed the restaurant was not open. Oh well. We would stay here again if passing through. We paid 38.75 including tax and discounts.
Date of Stay: June, 2017
Rate Paid: $38.75
We called today and my husband was told there were plenty of tent sites and it would cost $22.20. 2 hours later we were told he didn't have any sites and he would never tell us that etc. My husband took time to tell him maybe he should take a look at his system and the man running the check in office told my husband "I don't give a sh*t and to get the hell out of here!" He had other customers waiting in there to pay for sites...He extremely unprofessional and rude.
